| Mission: | The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and cope with emergencies. |
| Program or Service: | The American Red Cross of Central Texas serves the nine counties of Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Lee, Llano, Milam, Travis and Williamson. The Red Cross assists families who are victims of single-family fires, apartment fires, large natural disasters such as floods, tornadoes and hurricanes, man-made disasters, and other emergency situations. This is accomplished by volunteers who are ready at a moment's notice to offer disaster relief in the form of mental health counseling, shelter, and vouchers for food, clothing, household items, occupational supplies, prescriptions, funeral expenses, utility deposists, and first month's rent.
Health and Safety training such as CPR, First Aid and Water Safety are skills every family and business should learn. The Red Cross is the recognized premier provider of First Aid, CPR, swimming and water safety, and other health and safety education programs. These courses help make our communities healthier, safer places to live and work.
American Red Cross International Social Services supports humanitarian relief around the world. Besides tracing relatives lost during disasters or wars, this vital part of the Red Cross also provides education to the public about international humanitatian law, responds with personnel and financial aid in response to appeals for relief assistance in armed conflicts and internationals disasters, and provides the expertise and resources of the American Red Cross to other Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The American Red Cross has been keeping the American people in touch with members of their family serving in the U.S. military for more than a century. For the American soldier and his or her family, the Red Cross is the connection to home, relaying urgent information such as a family crisis, a death int he family, a financial emergency or a joyous birth. The Red Cross works with military aid societies to provide interest-free loand and grants when urgent personal or family crises arise.

| Outcomes: | The American Red Cross of Central Texas provides services to people in our nine county jurisdiction. Last year disaster services assistance was provided to 1,041 individuals involved in 176 different disasters. All disaster assistance is provided at no cost to the recipient. |
| Events Hosted: | The American Red Cross hosts several fundraising events each year, including our New Year's Eve Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel; our Del Webb Charity Golf Classic, which is held in April; Red, White and You, a family event walk-a-thon;Sporting Clay Tournament; and Red, White and Brew, an event for young professionals. |
