| Mission: | The Austin Child Guidance Center is dedicated to helping children and their families become emotionally healthy by providing high quality mental health services so that they gain hope, understanding, and skills to improve functioning at home, at school, and in the community. |
| Program or Service: | In order to carry out its mission, the Center employs a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and counselors to provide a comprehensive range of mental health services including psychiatric and psychological assessments; individual, family, and group counseling; outdoor experiential activities; parent and public education; professional staff development trainings; and program evaluation and research projects. |
| Outcomes: | The Center serves children 0 - 17 years of age who may be experiencing an emotional or behavioral problem. Evaluations indicate that over 90% of the children in treatment make progress towards their goal or achieve their goal. Two thirds of the children improve their ability to function at home, at school, or in the community. |
