| Mission: | To build partnerships and develop resources to support the needs of Austin parks, providing vital services that the city cannot. |
| Program or Service: | Colorado River Park - APF has led the initiative to create and develop this 360-acre urban park in central east Austin. APF is currently working to build innovative partnerships between the public and private sector to ensure the necessary funding and commitment in order that the Park become a place that is beautiful, vibrant, and cherished for generations of Austinites.
Partners for Parks Program - works to bring people and resources together to support the needs of underserved parks and the communities that surround them. APF works actively with community partners to enhance and revitalize their parks. APF accomplishes this by providing technical assistance, fundraising and communication services, and networking opportunities to neighborhood residents, community groups, and corporate citizens interested in transforming their parks into vital public places.
Neighborhood Park Grants - The Neighborhood Park Grants Program promotes collaborative community efforts to revitalize Austin's 75 often-underserved neighborhood parks. Grants of $300 to $2500 support community-driven projects that enhance neighborhood parks through physical improvements, landscaping or greening projects, programming, special events, and outreach activities that serve to increase community use and investment in parks.

| Outcomes: | Colorado River Park - In 1999-2000 APF led the efforts to creat a community-driven plan for the park. The result is a plan that enriches and restores he scenic beauty of the park site while providing an array of recreational opportunities for all Austinites.
Since 1992, the Austin Parks Foundation has brought needed resources to underutilized and deteriorating parks in east Austin. Working directly with community groups, local businesses, and the City of Austin, APF has held community planning events, raised funds, and helped implement several neighborhood park improvements at Allison School Park, Springdale Park, and Bartholomew Park.
Through its Neighborhood Parks Grants Program, APF currently works with neighborhood groups around 11 parks to bring about measurable and positive change in park use and appearance.
APF programs and services work to strengthen communities and neighborhoods by creating healthy and vibrant public places for young and old alike to connect, learn, and play.
