| Mission: | To support community integration for persons with cerebral palsy
and other physical disabilities. |
| Program or Service: | ASERT - Employment services for people with multiple, severe disabilities.
CADA - Home modifications, wheelchair ramps, grab bars, wider bathroom doorways, etc.
ACCESS - assists people with disabilities moving from institutions or group homes into their own apartment in the community nad teaches the skills needed to maintain that living such as money management skills, home responsibility management, etc.
Liberation Station - a technology lending library for people with disabilities, their families and service providers.
Information, referral and follow-along - a service providing additional references to other service providers to fill in gaps in service. |
| Outcomes: | CADA - We modify over 400 homes a year to make them accessible for the residents with disabilities.
ASERT - We assist 70 people a year to gain employment earning a competitive wage.
We have a housing counselor that surveys area apartments for accessibility, access to transportation, shopping and other quality of life issues and distributes the list to organizations all over the city as well as sending it to the public on request. |
