| Mission: | The Crime Prevention Institute was founded to help ex-offenders successfully transition back into the community. The heart of this program is helping ex-offenders prepare themselves for employment and then find and hold jobs. The process involves skills and interview training, job placement assistance, and follow-up services to help these men and women be successful in the free world. |
| Program or Service: | CPI holds prison-based job fairs and provides job skill training and job placement assistance, case management services, transportation assistance, clothing appropriate for jobs, community agency referrals, employer site vistis, assistance in obtaining state ID & social security card, and an employment incentive bonus program. |
| Outcomes: | Population served: men and women being released from state jail. CPI finds employment for nearly 65% of clients, and case managers provide follow-up services for 30 days after clients obtain full-time employment. |
