Charity Description
Mission: To support the independence and community involvement of people with disabilities.
Program or Service: ASERT - Employment services for people with multiple and severe disabilities. A new grant allows staff to work with graduating high school seniors to ensure they find and retain employment.

ACCESS - Assists people with disabilities to move from institutions or group homes into their own apartment in the community. Teaches skills needed such as money management skills, home responsibility management, etc. We teach people how to ride mainline buses.

Liberation Station - A technology and toy lending library for adults and children with disabilities, their families and service providers. Staff also train clients to use computers and software.

Information referral and follow along - A service providing additiona references to other service providers to fill in gaps in service.
Outcomes: ASERT - We assist 80 people a year to obtain and maintain employment earning a competitive wage. We work with 60 graduating high school students annually with a focus on employment. We educate at least 100 people annually on community resources.

ACCESS - We assist over 75 people a year to live in the community.

Liberation Station - We provide access to technology, from toys to computers, for 100 people a year. During the Holiday season, toys are modified and given to 50-100 children.

Information and Referral services impact over 3,000 people annually. Requests come through the phone, mail, email and walk-ins.
Events Hosted: Celebration 2003 - A reception and awards ceremony for disability leaders in the central Texas community. 11/14/03

SPAMARAMA - This is an annual Spring event in Austin. It features a SPAM cook off with separate divisions for novices and professionals, the musical SPAMJam, and the world famous SPAMAlympics. This event is NOT to be missed! 4/3/04
How to Donate: Celebration 2003 donations may be made by check, Mastercard, Visa or Discover. Sponsorship levels range from $100 to $5,000. Just call the office at and ask for Teri.

Many Austin employers participate in payroll deductions to charitable organizations; check with your Human Resource office.

SPAMARAMA raises funds through sponsorships, gate admission fees, and entry fees into the SPAM Cook Off and the SPAMAlympics. SPAMARAMA t-shirts are a popular and unique gift for ANY occasion!

We accept donations of cars, trucks, boat, trailers and rv's. We accept thrift store donations which are sold to Community Thrift Stores of Texas.

Online giving is possible through www.networkfor good.org and www.wellspent.org

The Holiday Toy Project gives away toys to children with disabilites. Donors may give $20 for one toy or $200 for "sponsor" recognition.
