| Mission: | Our mission is to rescue pure-bred Labrador Retrievers from shelters, pounds, abandonment , and other situations,
and place them in loving, caring homes. |
| Program or Service: | The HOT Lab Rescue serves Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and surrounding areas.
It is HOTLR's policy to accept and place dogs ONLY in the state of Texas.
All Labradors are neutered/spayed, current on shots, and heartworm negative prior to being put up for adoption.
We have assisted owners with training tips to help them keep their dog instead of giving up on the dog and turning it over to a shelter. We also have a Telephone Referral program for owners that need to find a good home for their dog. |
| Outcomes: | We place approximately 75 Labradors per year in loving homes. In 2000 we assisted in a major rescue of 78 Labradors in the Houston area. We brought 50 of these dogs directly into our care and most of them have found wonderful homes. |
