| Program or Service: | The tutoring and Computer Clubs are after school programs designed to encourage kids, grades 1-12, to stay in school and to learn about computes and the internet.
Las Hijas de Maria are a group of girls who gather to pray, play, and share life experiences.
The Knights of Juan Diego ae a group of boys, ages 5-12, who gather to pray, play, and share life experiences.
Los Jovenes De Juan Diego are a group of both boys and girls, ages 13-18, who tgather to pray, share life experiences...
Los Ayudantes De Juan Diego is a bilingual group of Spanish and English speaking adults who dedicate theselves to proclaiming ther good news of Jesus Christ in the community. They learn to help othes by becoming informed in programs that will help people in the community find assistance. |
| Outcomes: | The surrounding spanish-speaking community of youth and thier families have had the oppurtunities to help themselves and others.
One of our youth became a youth minister at one of our local churches and then obtained a job with Safe House leading their kids programs. Another, who was a special education student who had become frustrated with school and home and about to run away became interested in our and Public TV production program which gave the iniactive to finish school and now works for a sucurity company. One of the young coordinators joined Dell and recieved an award for his work ethic. The last summer one of our individuals joined the marines and recieved a certificate for being a religious lay leader for helping five individuals who were having difficulties in the corp. Another became an electrician. Our surrounding community now looks at us for leadship in parenting classes, finding jobs, computer training, and life skills. |
