| Mission: | To improve the health of the people of Central Texas through leadership, collaboration and education. |
| Program or Service: | The Foundation provides leadership in developing new and innovative approaches to solving chronic community health problems and their root causes. We assist the community’s most effective, health-related, non-profit organizations.
The Root Cause Project is aimed at mobilizing a targeted, diverse, underserved community to improve the overall health of its members by addressing the root causes of community health issues. Community health is comprehensively defined as encompassing the overall physical, mental, emotional health of its members. The Project places high priority on measurement. Efforts are focused on a geographic area in north Austin that is ethnically diverse and economically disadvantaged. |
| Outcomes: | YOUTH DEVELOPMENT- Encourage and support health relationships between youth and adults through community activities centered on leadership, communication, education and fun.
COMMUNITY BUILDING- Mobilize community partnerships in identifying and solving community health problems.
MEDICAL INCIDENCE- Monitor the health status of the community in order to identify community health problems, their root causes, and identify or develop workable, innovative solutions. |
