| Charity Description |
| Mission: | Mission Statement
Buffalo Roam / A Sanctuary seeks to eradicate abuse, neglect, and inappropriate private ownership of wild animals through the development of volunteer-based education programs both on and off site that teach the need for, and implementation of, knowledge and skills to 1) care for animals who have suffered at the hands of their owners; and 2) prevent future maltreatment.
|
| Program or Service: | Education programs for area school children, 4H, city park day camp, Tangram head injured, Girl Scouts, nursing home residents, the general public. |
| Outcomes: | · The nurture and dedication to helping those animals incapable of helping themselves evolves into an increase in self esteem for the abused women and the brain injured involved in our program. They can easily relate to the “caged”.
· This program also teaches young girls in our Girl Scout program about empowerment so that they will be strong women and less likely to become victims of abuse and more aware of the need for a healthy world.
Our animals will thrive in a healthy environment and there will be less need for sanctuaries that care for abused animals. We will put ourselves out of business. |
| Events Hosted: | Assist with education of veterinarian assistants program, CASI chili cookoff, Soar and Roar with the Spirits (Halloween). |
| How to Donate: | online (Paypal on web site), in kind (see web site or newsletter for needs), or check (to address included). |
