| Charity Description |
| Mission: | To provide every abused and neglected child in the Travis County court system with a Court Appointed Special Advocate Volunteer who will advocate on behalf of that child's legal, educational, social, and medical needs until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. |
| Program or Service: | Our volunteers are appointed by the court in Travis County. CASA is the only program in Austin that provides long-term advocates for severely abused and neglected children and provides a juvenile intervention program to children in crisis. |
| Outcomes: | In one year, CASA volunteers:
Advocated for 532 children in 244 cases.
Represented the best interest of a child in 481 court hearings and 202 Planned Permanency Team Meetings.
Prepared 311 detailed court reports.
Successfully guided 217 children in 102 cases into safe, permanent homes.
Were appointed to 97 new cases, providing personal attention to an additional 197 children in areas of legal, medical and educational advocacy.
Helped find permanent, loving, caring families to protect and nurture children in fear of their parents. |
