Mission: To assist low-income parents and their children. It builds on the strengths parents bring and the love they have for their children to promote educational advancement and to foster personal and economic success.
Program or Service: Avance-Austin currently provides a full array of high impact programs designed to provide the best parenting, adult and early childhood education services available in the area.
Outcomes: We've developed a benchmark program of 27 bilingual parenting classes designed to give parents the basic tools for becoming their child's most important first teacher. Results show these classes increase the value of education and show parents the importance of tasks like reading to the child on a daily basis.
